Welcome to the Kenmore, QLD dental clinic of Dr Chris Plackner, Kenmore Family Dental. Our experienced team looks forward to providing you and your family with the best in dental care.

When we welcome you to your first appointment as a new patient, here is what you can expect when you take a seat in the dental chair:

  • Tooth-by-tooth exam
  • Gum health evaluation
  • Oral cancer screening of the soft tissues of the mouth
  • Treatment recommendations, as needed

Most of our patients will also have a professional clean done at their first visit.

The Reason You Have Come In

If you are like many of our patients, you are coming in for the first time because you are due for a check-up and clean. If it’s been a while since your last visit to the dentist, rest assured that we are a judgment-free clinic. We cannot change the past, but we can set you on the right path for good oral health for the future.

We will likely recommend that you allow us to take x-rays at your first appointment.

If you have come to us for another reason, such as a dental emergency, we will take care of your immediate needs to make you comfortable. When further treatment is needed, we can discuss this as well so you can make the best decision going forward.

What You Should Bring Along

You can save time at your first appointment by filling out new patient forms ahead of time and bringing them along. You will find these on our website for downloading. If you have any medical conditions or allergies, be sure to let us know about those straightaway.

Other important items to have on hand when you come in include the following:

  • Medical history, including surgeries
  • Prescription list, including dosages
  • Health fund card
  • Payment for services

It also helps to jot down any questions you might have prior to your visit and bring those along. You might also want to take notes during your appointment.

If you have had x-rays taken recently at another dental clinic, you can ask them to forward a copy to our office before your appointment. Or you can pick them up and bring them along with you.

If You Have Additional Questions

We invite you to peruse our frequently-asked-questions section before you come in to see if some of your questions are answered there. If you have additional questions, we invite you to bring those along or to call us ahead of time. We want to do everything we can to ensure that you feel confident in your choice of Kenmore Family Dental as your dental health partner.
